Project Name: Zero Waste Project

Project Coordinator: Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Related and Affiliated Institutions/Organizations of Ministries, Educational Institutions (schools, universities), and similar establishments.

Project Objective:

- Controlling waste material under the framework of sustainable development principles

- Prevention of redundant consumption in the country, effective usage of natural resources, mitigation of waste amount, and separate recycling and collection of waste at its source.

- Collection of waste separately at its source and building temporary waste storage areas by the waste-maker organizations for the waste materials listed in Annex-4 of the Regulation on Waste Management.

Project Works: Waste bins and containers were provided for separate collection of recyclable waste (paper, glass, electronic parts, etc.) generated in the General Directorate of TKI and the Directorates at the operational areas, and temporary waste storage facilities were built up. Collected waste materials are delivered to the licensed recycling plants periodically. Zero Waste Certifications were obtained by the General Directorate of TKI and the Directorates at the operational areas.
